BRIDGES

Bridges are dental restorations that restore broken or missing teeth. Using the CEREC milling machine, dentists at Northern Nevada Family Dental can custom design and fabricate crowns.

CEREC CROWNS – CAD/CAM

CAD/CAM single-visit, all porcelain crowns, onlays, and inlays. Crowns are custom-made in our office using cutting-edge equipment to fabricate them in our office and place them either the same day, or next.

DENTURES/PARTIAL DENTURES

Dentures can either be complete or partial, depending on whether you require replacement for all or a few of your teeth. Dentures can replace lost teeth and are removable.

EMERGENCY SERVICES

Accidents happen. We will make sure you’re ready to get back in action! If you are experiencing a dental emergency during office hours, contact us immediately and we will accommodate you that same day. In case of emergency after hours, patients of record are directed to call our office to be connected with our answering service. A dentist will get back with you as soon as possible to ensure your concern is addressed and treated.

EXTRACTIONS

You may need a tooth extraction for any number of reasons. Often, some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed while others may have advanced periodontal disease. Other cases may involve a tooth that is broken in a way that cannot be repaired (cracked or fractured, etc.). And, in some cases, teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth. Dentists at NNFD can then discuss potential options for replacement of the extracted tooth/teeth, such as a dental implants or a bridge.

FILLINGS

Dental fillings are utilized to repair a tooth that is affected by decay. They are very durable and have been known to last many years. This procedure can be done in as quick as one dental appointment and can help restore your tooth to its original shape and function for proper mastication of food.

GUM CARE

Gum recession is an incredibly widespread problem that dentists at NNFD diagnose and treat on a daily basis. It is important to thoroughly examine the affected areas and make an accurate diagnosis of the actual underlying problem. Once the cause of the gum recession has been determined, surgical and non-surgical procedures can be performed to halt the progress of the recession and prevent it from occurring in the future.

PEDIATRIC DENTAL SERVICES

The American Dental Society recommends children experience their first dental visit at least six months after the first tooth appears or no later than you child’s first birthday. At NNFD, having your child feel comfortable, safe and secure during their first visit is vital to developing a healthy attitude towards dentistry. We are happy to walk your child through their entire visit, while educating them on what to expect and what each tool is used for during their appointment. We believe this is important to help create healthy and strong oral hygiene habits.

PREVENTATIVE EDUCATION

At Northern Nevada Family Dental, we take pride in providing our patients with the latest in preventative education. In any realm, education is key to understanding why certain procedures, or treatments are necessary. First and foremost is meticulous home care. We strive to educate proper order of brushing and flossing so to protect the limited precious enamel we all have.

ROUTINE CLEANINGS

Professional dental cleanings (dental prophylaxis) are performed by Registered Dental Hygienists.

A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet. Prevention of periodontal disease also includes regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth. Ultimately, prevention helps avoid serious and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, radiant smile.

ROOT CANALS

When decay or damage to a tooth has reached pain or discomfort, often times the only solution to relieve these symptoms is a root canal. At NNFD we utilize only the latest in advanced dentistry techniques and equipment because the comfort of our patients is always our first concern. Making your procedure efficient, effective and as comfortable as possible is our number one priority.
