We provide a variety of preventive, cosmetic, and restorative treatments to the entire family while making sure to give special care and attention to our younger patients. We encourage you to bring your young children to visit and become familiar with the environment. By the time they get their first tooth, we want them to be excited to come in and get personalized care from our compassionate team.

At Northern Nevada Dental, we believe that restorative care is one of the keys to achieving the best dental health possible.

Our services include:

High Performance Laser Treatments Without Compromise

With the Lightwalker laser, we can now offer you and your family cosmetic and restorative benefits that can drastically improve your health and quality of life. Using either a highly absorbed laser wavelength or a deeply penetrating wavelength, we can perform many hard and soft treatments with precision, high performance, and safety.

Lasers can be effective for many treatments, including:

  • Cold Sores
  • Endodontic Treatment
  • Gum Disease & Reshaping
  • Biopsies
  • Exposing Wisdom Teeth
  • Removing Decay
  • Teeth Whitening
  • Sleep Apnea

Laser treatment allows us to remove cavities without local anesthetic shots, perform fast and efficient root canal therapy, and provide a wide range of suture-free soft tissue procedures. The laser is especially successful for treating children with no unpleasant sounds, smells, or sensations like those experienced with a traditional drill.

TwinLight™ uses two proven laser wavelengths along with the specific capabilities of the Lightwalker® laser system in tandem for unprecedented success in the battle against periodontal disease. Using lasers to treat gum disease produces less inflammation and pain, and also speeds healing and new cell growth. With no blade, no stitches, and little-to-no post-operative pain, your periodontal care will no longer be something to dread.

Laser Therapy for Sleep Apnea

NightLase® non-invasive laser therapy uses dual wavelengths for an increased level of performance and your comfort. Airway management treatments can significantly improve your health and the quality of life for both you and your loved ones. NightLase uses the photothermal capabilities of the Lightwalker laser to stimulate new elastic collagen cells. By elevating the soft palate tissues, this process dramatically improves the upper airway volume. By reducing the collapsibility of the airway and maintaining tissue mobility, this therapy can reduce snoring and lessen the effects of obstructive sleep apnea.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

Dental implant treatment can be divided into two parts: placement and restoration. Placement involves the surgical implementation of implant posts into the jaw bone. These posts are made of biocompatible titanium and fuse to the jaw bone to create a permanent foundation for restorations that can last a lifetime.

Extractions remove the entire tooth and the root structure, which usually supplies essential nutrients to the jaw bone. A dental implant mimics a tooth root, signaling your body to continue to develop new tissue and bone cells. This stimulation prevents your jaw from shrinking and provides renewed structure, improving oral health and appearance.

Same-Day Restorations with CEREC

A bridge is a row of crowns designed to replace one or more missing teeth. The first and last crowns are placed over existing healthy teeth to anchor the middle crown in place. This bridge can function like your natural teeth, preventing too much stress from being placed on other teeth, and it can restore the aesthetics of your smile. With our in-house CEREC milling machine, we can create your crown or bridge right in our office, and ensure it fits comfortably and securely. We can also handle emergency treatments quickly and efficiently, so you can get back to your routine as soon as possible.

Full Function and a Natural Appearance

Northern Nevada Family Dental offers the choice of traditional dentures and bridges and their implant-supported counterparts. Both dental implant restorations and conventional prosthetics have distinct benefits to your oral health. We provide the relevant information for all your restorative options, so you can make a decision that fits your lifestyle and your budget. Some of our implant restorations include:

  • Single Dental Implants
  • Implant-Supported Bridges
  • Overdentures
  • All-On-4® or “Teeth-in-a-Day”

Tooth loss impacts your ability to smile confidently as well as your bone health and chewing function. When teeth are missing, that section of the jaw bone shrinks and loses volume. Without stimulation to the bone, your jaw can become brittle, and your face can take on a prematurely aged appearance.

Root Canal Therapy Can Save Your Smile

Your tooth is made up of multiple layers, the innermost of which is known as the pulp. This layer contains blood vessels and nerves and stretches from the center of the crown down into the roots. The chambers that hold the pulp within the roots are known as canals. When this pulp becomes infected, it is essential to remove the damaged tissue to save the tooth structure.

We use lasers to expedite and improve root canal therapy. With lasers, we can effectively remove the infected pulp, clean anatomically complex root canal systems, and maximize long-term success. Root canal therapy seals off the tooth to prevent further decay and restores the strength of the overall tooth’s structure.

Smile Makeover

Most people understand how important an attractive smile can be, not only in terms of how you look but also in terms of how you feel about yourself. When your smile looks good, you feel good, and that's why it's great to invest in your smile. A smile makeover at Northern Nevada Family Dental improves more than aesthetics, and it also helps you attain optimal oral health.

We incorporate iTero digital scanning for 3D imaging of your smile in minutes. This radiation-free laser supplies digitally perfect impressions of your teeth and soft tissue structures that can be used for Invisalign treatment as well as the fabrication of many different prosthetics.

With superior quality dental restorations, you improve the shape, color, or alignment of your teeth with a custom treatment plan that completely reconstructs your smile.
